Jennifer Grant is a painter based in Cincinnati, Ohio. She grew up in a small town in northeast Ohio during the 1960's and 70's. As a child all she really wanted to do was to draw, learn about art, and question everything.

This brought Jennifer to Cincinnati, Ohio where she studied at the University of Cincinnati College of DAAP, receiving a BFA in Art Education.  She enjoyed a 30 year career as a high school art teacher, making visual art accesible to young people.

Jennifer enjoys life drawing from the model, painting, reading, art history, travel, music, family, friends, and lifelong learning.

Artist Statement

My art work ranges in style from representational to abstract. My work reflects how  I view things from the outside looking in, whether it is an image of an interaction among people or an observation of nature.  I inherently view things from a distance and use my artwork  as a vehicle to make sense of the situation. I love the "quirky" and  enjoy communicating this in my artwork.

As Edward Hopper said, “If you could say it in words there would be no reason to paint”.
